Mountainview Recognized at Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital’s Courtyard

Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital’s Therapy Space Officially Named Mountainview Courtyard

Mountainview Building Group is thrilled to announce the renaming of the main therapy space in the outpatient building at the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital as Mountainview Courtyard. The space recognizes a generous $750,000 gift made to Hotel Dieu Shaver Foundation from our president, Mark Basciano, and the Mountainview team.

“We first announced this commitment in 2016 and directed funds toward state-of-the-art patient care equipment and innovative rehabilitation programs,” Basciano shares. “But the community has been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic, so we upped our game and completed our commitment early to support the most pressing needs of the hospital.”

Mountainview Courtyard features 5,750 square feet of rehab therapy space and helps patients regain motor function—particularly gait and mobility. It boasts a gorgeous, open-concept design with ample natural light and the opportunity for patients to interact with and encourage one another. Every day, the space bears witness to Hotel Dieu Shaver’s dedicated professionals helping to rebuild lives and renew hope.

Mountainview is incredibly proud to call Niagara home and we strive to give back to the communities that we value so greatly. For more than 40 years, we’ve offered our support to numerous community sports teams, Niagara College, Nick Basciano Community Centre, Thorold Community Care, McMaster SickKids, The Pathstone Foundation, and, of course Hotel Dieu Shaver.

In 2019, Mountainview received the Outstanding Corporation Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). The award recognizes one company each year that demonstrates outstanding financial support, community involvement, and motivation of others to take on leadership roles.

At Mountainview, we don’t just build homes—we create communities. And we couldn’t be more grateful to be able to give back to ours on a regular basis.
