Update on Campaign for new Pathstone Site

Community responds positively to Gift Match Opportunity!

Welland, ON [07-14-2022] – With seventy five percent of their goal reached, today, Pathstone Foundation is announcing that the River House RENO campaign’s gift match has now been achieved.

Pathstone Foundation kicked off the campaign in March to support a new site in Welland with a gift match commitment from Mountainview Building Group of up to $250,000. That gesture truly excited and inspired members from across Niagara to organize events and make their own contributions to the cause.

We have already seen a number of groups, clubs, associations and businesses make generous commitments to help fund the renovations and program support needed before we can open Pathstone Mental Health’s next site at 102 River Road in Welland. I feel like there is a love affair across Niagara South with this site. The community has been extremely welcoming to this project so far. Kim Rossi, Director of Philanthropy & PR, Pathstone Foundation.

One example was a call from John Clark, owner of M.T. Bellies in Welland. “He said, Mark (Basciano) and I go way back. We want to throw an event at the restaurant for you and all of the money raised will go to the new site in Welland.” The, “It’s a Wonderful East Coast Kitchen Party,” event raised $40,007 for the River House RENO Campaign.

Now that the gift match has been met, our campaign is sitting at just over $500K, we have just under $250k left to raise in order to reach our goal.

We knew we had a gap in care in Niagara South but didn’t have the resources to solve that, until a Pathstone donor made purchasing 102 River Road possible. Currently the site is under renovation with an anticipated opening date of early 2023.

This move allows Pathstone to put down roots in a strategic location in Niagara South, able to serve a greater population that has long been seeking mental health support at our St. Catharines site.

Over the past 12 months, Pathstone continued to see more kids than the previous year. We are closing in on 11,000 kids supported with another 570 kids still waiting for mental health services.

Our hope is that our Niagara community can help us cross the finish line.
