Mountainview Building Group is honoured and thrilled to be able to give back to the YWCA Niagara Region!

Capital campaign to build Oakdale Commons, completed!

The YWCA Niagara Region set a tremendous goal of raising $7.4 Million for their capital campaign to build Oakdale Commons, a long-term supportive housing building for women experiencing chronic homelessness in the Region.

With the support of Mountainview Building Group, this goal has been reached! “Thank you, Mountainview Building Group, for your generous gift of $120,000, the final installment needed to complete our campaign.” said Elisabeth Zimmermann, Executive Director of the YWCA Niagara Region. “Oakdale Commons is a testament to what Niagara is capable of when our community comes together for meaningful change. The difference this building has already made in 2021 is a small demonstration of the impact we will have on the community for years to come.”

Reaching this goal means 15 Home For Good units will provide the most vulnerable women in the community with a place to call home, six Emergency Family Shelter units will put roofs over children’s head, and three Transitional Housing units will be home to families on their way towards independent housing.

“We are so grateful to Mark Basciano and Mountainview Building Group for this wonderful gift. Mark and his team have shown great leadership through this gift ensuring that vulnerable women and their families have a safe place to heal and move forward with their lives. Our deepest thanks to the Mountainview team and our community for making this building a reality,” said Zimmermann.

Giving back to the people in the Niagara Region is one of Mountainview’s most important endeavours, something they are actively involved in year after year. Supporting the community they live, work and play in.
