With more than 30 years of experience and over 4000 homes built from Fort Erie to Grimsby and everywhere in between, Mountainview Homes has held the leadership role in new home construction in the Niagara Region. With visions of a Higher Standard of Living, Mountainview prides itself as a leader in design, innovation and service in Ontario.

In 1979, Mountainview Homes planted humble roots as a family run home building company, founded by Nick Basciano and his two brothers-in-law Lou Memme and Frank Memme. The company was extremely successful in the early years and by the late 1980’s Mountainview had successfully become Niagara’s largest home builder.

Creating a sense of place, beautiful master planned family communities were successfully completed across the Niagara Region. Confederation Heights in Thorold, Ontario has over 1000 homes built. As well, in West St. Catharines, Vintage Estates, Cambrian Heights, Grapeview Estates, Brockview Estates, and Maplebrook Estates have over 1000 homes built.

1994 saw the beginning of change for Mountainview Homes. The second generation of the Basciano-Memme partnership became more involved in the company that their fathers had created as a visionary development and building company. Mark Basciano and Michelle Basciano, son and daughter of Nick Basciano, and Mike Memme, son of Frank Memme became actively involved in the company. Later in 2001, Mark succeeded his father as President of Mountainview, as Nick sadly passed away after losing a battle with cancer.

As Mark’s responsibility within Mountainview increased, his involvement in the professional building community increased as well. Mark has sat on the Board of Directors for such organizations as Meridian Credit Union, Tarion Warranty Corporation, The Niagara Home Builders’ Association, and The Ontario Home Builders’ association. As well, Mark represented the voice of the builder as President of The Ontario Home Builders’ Association in 2007/08.

Over the past 30 years, Mountainview has been so vastly involved in the community at large that it has become affectionately known as the “Citizen of Niagara?. Community involvement is an important part of Mountainview's philosophy. By being involved, the company is able to give back to the community and to better understand what community members need and want in a neighbourhood - enabling the Mountainview team to better serve their clients.

Mountainview Homes has been a proud major sponsor of the St. Catharines Falcons Junior B hockey team for over four years and of the St. Catharines Four-Plex Hockey Arena. Mountainview is a major contributor to the St. Catharines General Hospital Foundation and contributed to the building of the band shell in the garden of the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital. Mountainview also supports the Hamilton Health System, March of Dimes and Wellspring Niagara.

As the home building industry evolves in the changing market, Mountainview Homes prides itself with continuing to provide a Higher Standard. To the homeowner, it means providing an exceptional building experience and meeting high expectations. To the industry, it means continuing to raise the bar in building developments, technology and green initiatives. To the community, it means continuing to actively participate and grow the neighborhoods in which they live, work and play.
